Wednesday, February 06, 2008 - Registration for Spring 2008
Thank you to all of you who took advantage of early registration. All is well, except for Peewee where I am going to have to restrict Tuesday only registrations until more Thursday only registrations come in.
Perspective goalies should be sure to ask for a goalie spot early to insure their spot. First time female players continue to be half price.
Silver division is new. It is primarily for adult players, but open to elite youth players. It will be 4 on 4 with a puck rather than a ball. ’C’ level nonaggressive adult players will be permitted to play in bronze upon approval. Aggressive elite youth players will only be permitted in bronze upon approval.
Friday, October 12, 2007 - Fall season
GLA’s fall/winter 2007 season is off to a great start. There are 2 teams in atom, 4 in peewee and 4 in bronze. There is very limited space available for regular season teams, but there is space available for atom, peewee and bronze players wanting to play exhibition games on Thursday from 7 - 8:15 and for Bronze players on Mondays from 8:15 - 9:30. I am also open to offering indoor soccer on Thursday nights for youth and families if enough people are interested.
Monday, September 10, 2007 - Buy and Sell up and running
Thank you to Don Klassen for helping get GLA’s Buy and Sell up and running. Give it a try. I have posted 4 pair of skates and some helmets to start things off. It will likely take you a while to figure out how the site works. Access Buy and Sell using the buy and sell link on the homepage.
Sunday, August 19, 2007 - Girls Ice Hockey
I pass along this note from Chwk Minor Hockey. Hopefully, we’ll get girls actively playing both ice and inline. We all need to be active in sports we enjoy.
Why should boys have all the fun? Chilliwack Minor Hockey is recruiting girls who want to learn to play hockey for its Bantam (‘93/’94) and Midget (‘90/’91/’92) teams this fall. No body contact – no experience necessary. Great coaches and a fun atmosphere make girls ice hockey a Blast. Girls are also required who would like to train as goalies.
